MICROMILSPEC / AWG / ASSYMETRIC WARFARE GROUP

Another watch from Micromilspec. I love the fact they design and manufacturer bespoke military watch faces. The name kind of hints at what they do.

This one was done for the Asymmetric Warfare Group. The AWG was a United States Army unit created during the War on Terrorism to mitigate various threats with regard to asymmetric warfare. The unit was headquartered at Fort Meade, Maryland and had a training facility at Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia. The unit was created in 2006 and deactivated last year 2021.

The AWG watch is a tribute to the history and spirit of the Asymmetric Warfare Group. The dial is decorated with a custom arrow pattern, while the dark finish eliminates unwanted reflections in broad daylight. All the hands inspired by the AWG logo, in particular the red seconds hand, which is a subtle nod to AWG. Laser engraved dial ring – “Think / Adapt / Anticipate”. Tactical unidirectional bezel with 60-minute scale offers intuitive count-up functionality.

Not drawn entirely from scratch in GIMP and assembled and coded in WatchMaker.
